The Surface tablet from Microsoft

The Surface tablet from Microsoft has been revealed, which is its first venture in tablet computer segment. Microsoft has not been talking about its product until late although nothing secret about it.
The tablet is lower-powered Nvidia ARM processor, which is reported to be a different underlying architecture. The tablet is  said to have been designed  from a new "VaporMg" metal enabling it to be more durable. Also able to withstand drops and bruises.  The Touch Cover has no physical keys. The sensors built into it makes it a keyboard. The screen is 10.6-inch wide, ClearType HD type..

The company has announced the tablet will be available for pre-order through Surface.com. It will be on sale on October 26th at Microsoft stores.

There are two models to choose from. One is a 32 GB version and the other is 64 GB version.  The 32 GB version is the base model. The base model comes without the Touch Cover. The 64 GB version is included with the Touch Cover which serves as a keyboard and protective cover. The Touch Cover can be clipped to the bottom of the tablet.

Pricing
The pricing is claimed to be ‘very competitive’. Microsoft has probably created the most suitable hardware, timing it with the arrival of Windows 8

The 32GB tablet with the Touch Cover will cost $599. A 64GB version with the Touch Cover begins at $699. The Touch Cover alone will cost $119.99. The tablet competitive in price with Apple's iPad, which starts at $499 with 16GB. The Surface seems to be more expensive than expected.
