The Surface tablet from
Microsoft has been revealed, which is its first venture in tablet computer
segment. Microsoft has not been talking about its product until late although
nothing secret about it.
The tablet is lower-powered
Nvidia ARM processor, which is reported to be a different underlying
architecture. The tablet is said to have
been designed from a new
"VaporMg" metal enabling it to be more durable. Also able to
withstand drops and bruises. The Touch
Cover has no physical keys. The sensors built into it makes it a keyboard. The
screen is 10.6-inch wide, ClearType HD type..
The company has announced the
tablet will be available for pre-order through Surface.com. It will be on sale
on October 26th at Microsoft stores.
There are two models to choose from. One is a 32 GB version and the other is 64 GB version. The 32 GB version is the base model. The base
model comes without the Touch Cover. The 64 GB version is included with the
Touch Cover which serves as a keyboard and protective cover. The Touch Cover
can be clipped to the bottom of the tablet.
Pricing
The pricing is claimed to be
‘very competitive’. Microsoft has probably created the most suitable hardware, timing it with the arrival of Windows

The 32GB tablet with the
Touch Cover will cost $599. A 64GB version with the Touch Cover begins at $699.
The Touch Cover alone will cost $119.99. The tablet competitive in price with
Apple's iPad,
which starts at $499 with 16GB. The Surface seems to be more expensive than expected.
